About Cosgrove Genealogy

The purpose of this blog is to share ideas and lessons learned among people who are researching their respective Cosgrove (or similar surname variant) lines within their family trees in hopes of helping one another overcome the inevitable brick walls.  The blog also helps raise awareness and understanding of the use of genetic genealogy to compliment traditional genealogical research methods.  As the project administrator for the Cosgrove Surname Project on Family Tree DNA (www.familytreedna.com), I am continually recruiting males who carry the Cosgrove surname and people who have a Cosgrove line within their trees to take a commercial DNA test and join the surname project.  Genetic genealogy is a great and proven tool to help break down brick walls and  connect distant (and in some cases, not so distant) cousins together.
